Story
Claranet UK take on The London Marathon, My Way this April (21st).
Inspired by Customer Success Director Chris Wilson, who fought and won his own personal battle with cancer, and his drive to give back and support those going through similar battles he endured, our team will be taking on the 26.2 miles across the country to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Since launching our challenge other employees have also shared their experiences with Cancer, either personally or with their loved ones.
The story of cancer is changing. The UK population is ageing. As the risk of developing cancer increases with age, cancer incidence will increase. Research suggests that 1 in 2 people born in the UK after 1960 will receive a cancer diagnosis. Improvements in treatment and diagnosis are now allowing people to live longer after their diagnosis.
Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
This why we are getting on our feet. The Claranet Team will be walking the full length of the Marathon together. No legs, or relay approach. Every member of the team will cover the full distance. We have 3 teams across the UK, Claranet are contributing directly to the cause and we need you to help out too.
We massively appreciate any contribution you make.
