Story
My gorgeous niece Tiffy has inspired us as a family so much that I’ve decided to go all out this year and hopefully end on a high, quite literally!
Tiffany was diagnosed last January with Rett, the symptoms in which she has are she’s non verbal, lacks motor skills & has seizures along with many other things.
She doesn’t let those faze her and will always give you a smile, unless you turn off Bluey or Bing 😆
She has improved so much in just a year, being able to turn pages on her beloved books, much more strength in her legs so she can walk unaided with her equipment so much so she’s inspired me to up my game which is why this year I shall be attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in October to raise funds and awareness for this life changing condition.
When I asked her if she wanted to climb with me she giggled and replied “Yus” 😅 no going back now Tiffy!
All being well this will take me 8 days to complete.
Rett syndrome is devastating for a family. Having suspected something was not quite right, suddenly they are told their child will be profoundly disabled, with multiple health problems including epilepsy, a curved spine, breathing problems, feeding difficulties and gut/bowel issues.
Rett UK is there to pick up the pieces; emotional support, high quality, accurate advice & information, advocacy, reducing isolation, empowering families, building emotional resilience and helping the person with Rett syndrome live a life worth living.
