As many of you are aware I am not a runner .......... in fact the London Marathon 2024 will be my first Marathon.

So why am I doing this?

I am aiming to raise at least £5000 for Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organisation. Its mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. These simple gifts reach children in over 100 countries throughout the world that are affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease.

All the money raised will be going to directly to one project from Operation Christmas Child that is close to my heart, The Greatest Journey.

The Greatest Journey is a course that is offered by local churches to many of the children who receive shoebox gifts. The 12-lesson program is similar to a Sunday School programme, where children can come along have fun, sing songs, learn stories from the Bible and enjoy coming together.

I have witnessed the impact The Greatest Journey has on children in really difficult places around this world. I am passionate that children are given this opportunity to attend this course if they wish. The cost of making that happen is £5 per child. This provides equipping for the teachers, the booklet resources that the child gets to keep and share with their friends and finally a safe place for the child to meet.

In todays realities £5 bearly covers the cost of a coffee. But by donating £5 to The Greatest Journey you are providing children with Hope and the opportunity to explore more.
