Story

Alzheimer’s and Dementia has been in our family for some time. My Grandad had Alzheimer's, my Nanna had Dementia and recently my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Its affect on family and friends can be devastating, having someone you know and love present, but in a short period of time being unable to take part in a lot of things you do, even to the point of not know where they are or who you are. The care needed in the persons daily lives oftens falls to the nearest family members, in my dad's case, my mum and sister.

The Alzheimer's Society not only supports those who have dementia and their family, but also funds research into preventing this terrible disease. We must beat this. So, my sister, my wife and me, we walk. 26 miles. A marathon distance over the North York Moors. If you could spare even just a few pounds in sponsorship, that would mean the world to us. Thank you!
