Story

Seven of us are delighted to be running (most of the time!) the Bacchus Wine Half Marathon on 8th September 2024 to raise funds for Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for Disabled People (QEF). Any donation would be much appreciated.

Background to the work that QEF does to support disabled people:

There are 14.1m disabled people in the UK

•Every 90 seconds someone is admitted to hospital for an acquired brain injury

•In the next 20 years the rate of first-time strokes in people 45+ is expected to rise by 59%

•There are 800,000 disabled children under the age of 16 - that equates to one child in 20

Our teams provide expert advice and life-changing services that enable over 10,000 disabled children and adults a year to develop key life skills, increase mobility and maximise their independence. We rely heavily on donations to enable this work to continue.

More information about QEF can be found here https://www.qef.org.uk/
