Story
In January I will be cycling from the Pacific coast of Chile to the Atlantic coast of Argentina, a distance of 1700km (1060 miles) over 10 days, including going up over the Andes, topping out at 3800m!
I have decided to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis, as a member of our Lloret team has personal experience of this terrible condition, with a niece and nephew who both have Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Living with cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting physical health, mental wellbeing, and how individuals choose to live their lives. However, our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
I am participating in the 'Transandean Coast to Coast' cycling event on January 21, 2025, to raise as many funds as possible.
My goal is to raise £1000 a day for each day of riding, which will raise a total of £10,000 to support research and provide assistance to those affected by this condition.
Anything you can do to help would be appreciated, no matter how big or small.
