Story
I first became aware of LNADJ about seven years ago when I met Jonny and Ali while living in Ibiza. Witnessing the positive impact of their fundraising efforts and the incredible way electronic music could unite people for such an amazing cause truly inspired me.
In January 2025, I’m joining Last Night A DJ Saved My Life on their return to Tanzania to deliver their ‘Get Equipped’ project!
Before my DJing career took off, I worked in social care in Greenwich, London, supporting vulnerable young people aged five to eighteen. Being involved with children again and helping them through the power of music feels like a natural fit for me.
I’m incredibly excited to meet the team and pupils and continue the fantastic work that LNADJ and its previous trips have achieved at Angels Gate.
Alongside the incredible Jono Heale and Trevor Fung, team members Ellie Talebian and Jonny Lee I will take DJ equipment to the youth at Angels Gate and share the transformative power of music through DJing and music production workshops.
The boys at Angels Gate have faced incredibly tough life experiences. Many are street-involved and have struggled in traditional educational settings.
Since music and art education are not formally integrated into the curriculum, many children and young people lack access to these vital creative opportunities.
Yet, anyone involved in the music world understands how profoundly such education can inspire, uplift, and foster positivity.
This project gives them something invaluable: exploring their creativity in a safe, supportive space. Through music, they can build confidence, discover new talents, and find a positive outlet.
Thanks for supporting,
Darren x
