Darren and Ben will be tackling the U.K.’s biggest ultra – “Race to The Stones” hiking 100km (Non-Stop) starting from Lewknor and finishing in Avebury starting on 13th July 2024 in memory of my beautiful mum who was so cruelly taken in November 2008 from Motor Neurone Disease.

We felt that having both turned 50 last year, a walk of this magnitude would be a true challenge!

Losing my mum so young hit every single member of the family extremely hard, she was a truly wonderful mum and person who will never be forgotten.

Having witnessed firsthand how debilitating and aggressive this disease is and being inspired by the legend Kevin Sinfield and his monumental efforts raising money for MND, we wanted to do something ourselves to raise awareness and support people affected by MND. Your donations will help fund and invest in research taking us closer to effective treatment and a cure for this devastating disease.

This is how the money raised is changing lives:

£10 connects a newly diagnosed person with valuable support through our comprehensive MND Guide

£100 enables someone to bank their own voice and buys software to be able to communicate with loved ones

£250 will support a child whose world has been turned upside down by MND, offering the chance to improve their wellbeing or make special memories with the family.

£500 can go towards the cost of a ceiling hoist or pay towards housing adaptions such as a ramp to enable someone to live in their own home.

£1000 pays for detailed analysis of the DNA of someone with MND to help us to find better treatments

£2000 funds an MND expert researcher for 2 weeks, on the road to discover a cure.

Motor neurone disease (MND) affects nerves in the brain and spinal cord that help tell your muscles what to do. That means it affects everyone differently – taking lives bit by bit, word by word, and breath by breath. It’s a disease that is sadly fatal and incurable. It takes everything.
