Story
Over the last 8 years we have had a very up and down time with our family’s health. I lost my grandad to dementia at the young age of 66, 10months later my nan was diagnosed with bowel cancer, and in September 2023 nan got the all clear. Then in January 2024 we as a family found out that nan has chronic myeloid leukaemia.
we understand there are many forms of blood cancer, some are by far worse than others, my nan is very fortunate that this can be treated, not curable but treatable.
We are doing this walk to raise awareness. And hopefully in the future there will be a cure.
Anything you could donate would be so appreciated.
Thank you for reading our story.
We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
