Story
I'm supporting Oasis UK as part of their special 'Oasis 2gether' weekend raising funds for their vital mental health support work for children and their families.
My challenge is to bake 200 cakes on the Oasis 2gether weekend. Other than one loaf of banana bread in the first lockdown (obviously), I haven't baked in years! Despite my lack of expertise, on 16-18 June I'll be dusting off my pinny and my rolling pin and making 200 cakes, biscuits, and traybakes.
You can sponsor me to encourage me along (please!) - and I'll also be bringing my 'bakes' to Oasis Waterloo on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June -- so if you're at Oasis Waterloo you can sponsor me AND get a delicious cake in return!
Why all the baking?
Oasis works with some of the most vulnerable communities in the UK to develop Oasis Hubs', which provide wide ranging and integrated services, designed to meet the breadth of human need. Empowering local people to transform their neighbourhoods into places that are healthy, safe, supportive and full of opportunity. The money we raise through this Oasis 2gether weekend will help us provide more youth mentors, more parent groups, more after-school activities, more (free) counselling services, more wellbeing programmes ... more ways of building stronger communities together.
