Making things better for staff, patients and families on the Neonatal Unit at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire
The Neonatal Unit has become a huge part of our lives when our son arrived early at only 26 weeks gestation. He spent over 13 weeks on the Neonatal Unit. We celebrated all the progress he made in such a short space of time, including kangaroo care for the first time, when he first opened his eyes, hearing the first cry and celebrating his due date recently.
If it wasn’t for all the support and reassurance from the neonatal nurses, doctors, nursery nurses, cleaners and many more, I would’ve found this journey into parenthood even more challenging.
So a massive thank you to everyone who cared for our son during his long stay in the NICU. The work you do is exceptional and we’ll never forget this journey and how you supported us into parenthood for the first time. It wasn’t what we had planned, but it was our son’s journey into the world.
Thank you xxx
