Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I had my first psychotic episode when I was 15 and spent time in hospital under section and was forcibly medicated. . I had several more episodes of psychotic symptoms along with anxiety and depression.

Five years ago I needed a lot of support from crisis services and also contacted rethink and samaritan helplines. I gained quite a lot of weight due to my medication being increased. Luckily when I got better I had a good GP and got on the right medication and this last year I have got into running and healthy eating and stuck to it. I am running Chester marathon to fundraise for Rethink. Rethink provides support to people with mental health problems and campaigns for better services including the smi annual health check. People with severe mental illness die 10 or more years earlier than the general population and it is vital to continue supporting and campaigning for improved services.
