Story
This year I am entering into the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, my first ever attempt at this distance. My training is already well under way and I'm confident that May 12th is going to suck.
Running has always been a release for me, but I've never been one for PB's or medals. So why am I doing this to myself? Last year I had surgery to repair my knee and the lengthy rehab that followed took an unexpected negative toll on my mental health.
Fortunately, I happened to stumble upon last years race up at Headingley. I was inspired by the positivity and incredible atmosphere and I signed up for this years race on the spot. I'll be hoping to use those good vibes to power me through in May!
Why Leeds Mind?
Leeds Mind is a remarkable organisation that provides invaluable support to the people of Leeds who are facing mental health challenges. Anyone can struggle with their mental health and just talking about it can save lives. I am hoping to not just raise money, but also raise awareness for a cause that means a lot to me.
By supporting my fundraising efforts for Leeds Mind, you will be contributing directly towards providing vital resources and services that can transform someone's life. I also understand these are difficult times, so if you aren't able to donate, some words of encouragement would go a long way :)
I appreciate you! <3
