Story
In a moment of madness last week (Friday 16th February) I have agreed to run the London marathon - giving me a total of 65 days of training. I've never run more than 10km, I'm not a massive fan of running, and it's never been on my bucket list.
My decision was shaped by walking around the Oak Cancer Centre at the Royal Marsden hospital in Sutton - a fantastic new facility for treating cancer patients - last week. It was an awakening experience seeing people receiving chemotherapy first hand.
The amazing work that is undertaken by the Institute of Cancer Research in trying to beat/cure/solve/eradicate cancer is simply astonishing, and something that I consider to be well worth 9 weeks' of pain!
If you are able to donate, I would be very, very grateful.
Thanks
