Story
What?
Myself and some fellow shipmates from HMS KING ALFRED will be abseiling down The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth!
Why?
I am doing something exciting, challenging, and a little unnerving to raise funds and awareness for the Royal Navy Royal Marine Charity - a fully deserving organisation that helps the people who keep us all safe.
Who are the RNRMC?
The principal charity for sailors, Royal Marines, and their families for life. The RNRMC support services that help our people's physical and mental wellbeing.
How will my contribution help people?
Our people in the service can be put under a great deal of strain but the RNRMC provides a helping hand in a number of ways, just some of which I've included below:
- Providing safe spaces for children to spend quality time with their parents.
- Relationship and bereavement counselling.
- Helping find employment when transitioning to civilian life.
- Accessing care and support.
- Aid for mental health, debt, loneliness, injury, and homelessness.
The bottom line
Thank you for your help in this fully deserving charity that supports our people - from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran, their partners, and dependant children.
