Story
Thank you for taking a moment to visit our JustGiving page.
I'm Dan, and I'm fundraising for St Catherine's Hospice in Crawley. This incredible local charity has a powerful mission – to ensure that no one faces death and loss alone. Their work is more than just important; it's a lifeline for families in the darkest of times.
For the last few years, I've been supporting St Catherine's alongside my Masonic lodge, Addiscombe 1556. But this year, my connection to their cause became deeply personal.
This summer, I lost my beloved mother. In her final days, St Catherine's embraced her, and our entire family, with extraordinary care and compassion. Just one day before she entered the hospice, I received the news that I'd been given a place in the London Marathon. It felt like more than just a coincidence – it was a sign that I had to come out of running retirement and take on this challenge in memory of my wonderful Mum.
That's why I'm running the London Marathon to raise vital funds for St Catherine's. This hospice is a beacon of hope and support for people in Sussex and East Surrey facing terminal illness. But they can't do it without our help. They rely on donations to provide their pioneering end of life care.
Any donation you can give, no matter how big or small, will make a direct difference to families who need St Catherine's support now more than ever. Let's come together to ensure this incredible hospice can keep being there for those who need it most.
Thank you for your support.
