Story
Hello!
Welcome to Czech on a Trek. Between myself and Daniel Beaney, we’ve decided to hop on the Dash to Dubrovnik bandwagon and are planning on making the journey to Croatia in June this year in our latest classic purchase, Ferdinand.
He's a 1994 Skoda Favorit 1.3 LXi, dug up by Sarah Crabtree of Evoke Classics. It’s a 40,000-mile car with a full service history and few owners. Perfect, other than the dents. And the big clock instead of a rev counter. Which doesn’t keep time. Fingers crossed it’s going to be the car to get us there (and back…)
We start in Newcastle, with Dan picking me up in Coventry, and then a sprint through the likes of Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Italy to name a few. The route home will be a different story, aiming to take the car home to the Skoda museum in Mladá Boleslav.
This isn’t just an odd ploy for a lads holiday though. We’re taking this challenge on in the name of Alzheimer's Research UK, with our goal this year to raise at least £2,500 in aid of the search for a cure. Whether you’ve got a couple quid to spare via the link below or are just sharing our posts and following our feed on Instagram (@czechonatrek) – it doesn’t matter. Any support is hugely appreciated.
If you’re a company who fancy sponsoring us with either donations or support in getting the car prepared for the journey - get in touch. We’d love to see what we can do for each other.
Thanks all!
Connor & Dan
