Story
Christian Aid Week in Danbury, Lt Baddow & Bicknacre
To help end world poverty, helping all faiths and none.
Christian Aid started in May 1957 driven by Christians concerned at the plight of post-war refugees, worldwide.
Sadly, the need is still just as urgent with communities struggling with drought, crop failure, floods and displacement, famine, disease, war and debt. Christian Aid and it's partner organisations are helping people find ways to combat their catastrophes with programmes to learn how to grow crops, dig wells, form self-help groups and provide vital medical care.
In Danbury, the first committee was formed in the early '60's with a programme of fundraising events and a house to house collection covering the village. We now have been joined by Lt Baddow and Bicknacre and remain one of the top fund raisers in the South East. We need to maintain our efforts, the need is still there and house to house collections has been replaced by online giving. This year "The Week" is 14th-20th May and we have once again set up this Just Giving page to enable on line donations.Any amount however big or small is always gratefully received. Thank you so much for your generosity.
