Dan's is running Marathons for Harrison's Fund

Paris Marathon 2025 · 13 April 2025 ·
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for UK childrens charity Harrison's Fund. HF is the first charity in the UK that specifically focuses on the mental health needs of families who are dealing with their child’s Duchennes muscular dystrophy diagnosis - more on this below.
I'll be running 3 marathons (Paris, Stockholm and Cannes + a few semi marathons and 10k events).
Last September whilst staying in London with my close mates Sara & Peter, I met documentary film maker Nick Taussig.
Nick and I grew up a few hundred meters from each another. We are a similar age, we are both dad's and both have 2 kids.
Both of Nick's boys have a Duchennes diagnosis. His beautiful & touching documentary film (A Space in Time) covers the emotional struggles dealing with this reality.
I urge you to please watch Nicks's film …. you might not get through it all but the point of why I’m raising money will become very clear …. the link is below

Founded in 2012 by Alex and Donna Smith in honor of their son Harrison.
Over the past decade, the charity has made significant strides in raising awareness and funds for Duchenne research.
While Harrison’s Fund has always been driven by the mission to find a cure for Duchenne, the organisation has recognised a critical unmet need within the Duchenne community: the mental health and emotional well-being of families affected by this devastating disease.
This was my first question as I had never heard of it ….
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe life changing and life shortening genetic disorder.
It causes progressive muscle weakness and degeneration, primarily affecting boys. It results from a lack of dystrophin, a protein essential for muscle function. Symptoms typically start in early childhood and worsen over time.
All donations will go directly towards the costs of family counselling and support sessions with clinical psychologists.
Thank you so much for your support.
