Story
On Friday 4 October I am taking on the challenge of Boycott your Bed, sleeping out to support vulnerable children across the UK and raising vital funds for Action for Children.
A lot of you know my 50th birthday is almost upon me and if you're one of my family or pals that would like to combine a special birthday with a special cause I'd love for that energy and money to go towards helping vulnerable kids that need our help.
If you can't afford to give, don't stress. If you can, thank you.
Do it now... before you forget :-)
Some facts you may not know....
Did you know that 4.3 million children now live in poverty in the UK. That’s 30% of all children. It’s easy to think poverty happens elsewhere. But it’s affecting the child in the park. Next door. The children whose names you know.
The monies raised for Action for Children could give a child warm clothes, hot meals and a proper bed. Help in moments of crisis when children are living without the essentials.
£50 could pay for new shoes for two children, £60 could help pay for a family's household bills for a week, including gas and electricity, or £250 could pay for bedding and furnishings for 10 young people moving into care, to help make their room feel like their own.
