We're four women – Barbara, Rose, Helen and Teresa – with a love of walking and keeping fit as we get older and start to retire. We all met through Deal Walk and Talk Group, founded by the late Steve Bush, and decided to give ourselves a goal to work towards.

So we decided to take on the Dales Way - 80 miles of countryside rambling over 6 days from Ilkley in West Yorkshire, to Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria.

We're raising money for The Friends of Deal Hospital because as four Deal women, we wanted to do something for our local community and give to a cause that could benefit anyone. With nearly 250 years between us, it's going to be a real physical and mental challenge - so please give generously!
