Running 5K per week in support of Terry Fox run UK in Wrexham 🏴
The 13th October 2024 is the first Terry Fox Run in Wrexham, North Wales. 🏴
I was at the global cancer awareness evening in the Turf pub last year and was so inspired by the story of Terry and by the people who organise the charity in his name. So I signed up for the run as soon as I heard it had been organised.
But then I thought, what else can I do to honour the memory of Terry and raise as much as possible for the charity? In case you didn’t know Terry ran over 5,000Km in 143 days which itself is incredible. Added the challenges he faced makes him so awe inspiring. Thank you Terry. 🇨🇦https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Fox
Cancer sucks & sadly affects too many of us.
So I have decided to complete a 5K run per week from the 1st week of August until the Terry Fox Wrexham run on the 13th October. That should be 11 runs in total. At least 55K.
Having never been a runner before, I only found fun in running last November through friends I met at Wrexham AFC community ’fit dragons’. I’m excited to now connect my running with charity.
