Story
For those of you who know me, you will know that I’m not exactly a runner! Discipline has never really been my strong point! But this year of 2024 I have set myself a challenge- not quite convinced I can do a full marathon in one go just yet… and needing to have a goal that would fit in with our family’s needs - It’s hard to take too much time away from the family as Indy feels much safer when we are all around so the longer training demands of a marathon would be too much at the moment. So with all that in mind… I figured i would do a marathon but just do it differently! And I reckoned this would be a fitting way to raise money for the National Autistic Society.
Doing it differently is the new mantra in our family these days and the National Autistic Society has really helped us navigate the world of autism diagnoses and to access the support we have needed as a family and also to really celebrate neurodiversity and what it means for us and how we live our lives. So I’ll be doing 3 runs this year that add up to the length of a marathon and Indy who is autistic and LOVES to run! but finds crowds a big challenge will be helping me with my training and supporting from the sidelines on the big days so he’s doing his own challenge alongside me! And we’d both love your support.
