Story
Hi i am Dai. I am a North Wales based marine conservationist, Diver and voluntary medic with BDMLR (British Divers Marine Life Rescue). I have spent the last five years assisting in rescue for our Seals and Cetaceans along our coasts. I have spent many hours in and around the sea and seen the impact that disturbance and low mortality rate our seal pups endure. Along with many successes we have had there has been experts that have helped us along our way. My peers such as Dan Jarvis, Sue Sayer, Susan Richardson, Gem Simmons and Andy Torbet have all had their hand in assisting these rare and enigmatic creatures. A great backdrop to our work is places like the Cornish Seal Sanctuary where they assist injured seals, seprated from mum during disturbance or storms and/or aid in their rehabilitation for return to the ocean. Thus boosting their conservation effort. So i am attempting to raise a few quid for their continuation. I would have preferred some sort of ice bucket challenge but for some reason someone suggested throwing us out of a moving airplane at however many thousands of feet. Which wont be good for my irrational fear of heights. But where Seals are concerned i will put them before my comfort. In conjunction with The Cornish Parachute Club in St Agnes, Cornwall, on Saturday 11th May 2024 i will do a Sky Dive for Seals. Andy Torbet will be in attendance so there is absolutely no way i can back out of it now. So if you can all humour me i would be honoured if you can sponsor me a few pounds for this Fundraiser. Ive not done much fundraising and obviously it could well be my last so if you can please throw in. :)
