Fundraising for Children with Cancer UK
Hi! We're Ben and Alex (although there's another team member rumoured to be joining us!)... Two slightly out of shape and unfit Dads of four and two, respectively, who wanted to put ourselves through something that was going to be a physical challenge, for a charity that does incredible work throughout the UK.
We initially signed up to complete the Scotland Coast to Coast event and thought that we'd be done with it. But, no. Pushing ourselves that little more, as part of our fundraising challenge, we have signed up to the events outlined below. This is quite a jump considering that, before September 2024, Ben could barely run 2km without needing a breather and Alex - being a gym buff - didn't know what running was.
Training for both of us is well behind where we wanted to be at the end of 2024, but to a mix of broken bones, muscle strains, operations going wrong and life in general, we're almost starting afresh in January 2025.
June 2025 - Cheltenham Three Peaks (extended to a full marathon) - 42.2km
September 2025 - Scotland Coast to Coast - 160km
October 2025 - Forest of Dean Ultramarathon - 55km
Potentially more to come...
