The staff at Cotswold Wildlife Park are taking part in a 12.5km sponsored walk after work on Wednesday 2nd August to try and raise £180 for the "Boma Strengthening Scheme".
A boma is an enclosure where livestock are secured at night away from predators, they are traditionally made from thorns and branches. If hungry enough predators like lions, hyenas and leopards will break into bomas at night to take livestock.
Just £180 is needed to strengthen a boma for a local cattle owner, helping to reduce conflict at homestead level, helping people and lions to promote coexistence.
