CTC's fundraiser for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice

This year, CTC is dedicating our fundraising efforts to honour the memory of Holly, a much-loved and deeply missed member of our theatre family. Holly sadly lost her battle with cancer in October 2023, leaving a lasting legacy of talent, kindness, and joy that continues to inspire us all.
Holly was nothing short of extraordinary. An accomplished performer, she brought her characters to life with an emotional depth and authenticity that captivated our audiences.
From her comedic turn as Sugar Plum/Gingy in Shrek to her tender portrayal of Mabel in Mack & Mabel, Holly’s versatility as an actress knew no bounds. She had a rare gift for taking on complex, layered roles and finding the heart within them, whether as the fiery Rizzo in Grease, the daring Maureen in Rent!, or the courageous Esmeralda in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Her stunning voice left audiences in awe, and her ability to command the stage made every performance unforgettable.
Holly’s talent came naturally - she followed in the footsteps of her talented mother, Julie, a long-standing and cherished member of CTC. But Holly’s contributions to our society extended far beyond her roles on stage. She was a brilliant artist, often found painting scenery and floors for our productions, ensuring every detail of our shows was brought to life. Behind the scenes, Holly was the first to step up and lend a hand, whether helping with costumes, props, or scenery. At social events, she was the life and soul of the party, lighting up every room with her warmth, humour, and generosity.
Holly wasn’t just a talented performer; she was a part of our CTC family, and her absence is deeply felt. To honour her memory, we are dedicating this year’s fundraising efforts during our productions of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Bonnie & Clyde to support LOROS Hospice, the organisation that cared for Holly with such love and compassion during her final days.
LOROS is a hospice based in Leicestershire that provides vital care and support to over 2,500 patients and their families each year. Their services, which are offered free of charge, include pain management, end-of-life care, counseling, and respite for families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
To continue their incredible work, LOROS relies on fundraising and donations, requiring over £8 million annually to operate. These funds ensure they can provide the highest standard of care to patients facing terminal illnesses and their loved ones.
By supporting LOROS in Holly’s memory, we are not only celebrating her incredible life but also helping to provide comfort and dignity to others when they need it most.
We invite you to join us in paying tribute to Holly by contributing to this important cause. Whether through a donation, attending our productions, or simply sharing her story, your support means the world to us. Together, we can ensure Holly’s legacy continues to shine, and her spirit lives on through the care LOROS provides and the love she inspired in all of us.
From everyone at CTC, thank you for helping us remember and honour Holly in this special way.
