New charity single ‘Crumble’ released to support MQ Mental Health Research
A group of six Deutsche Bank employees have shown their support for their UK Charity of the Year, MQ Mental Health Research, by writing and performing a new single, ‘Crumble’, which aims to raise both funds and awareness to help further the charity’s pioneering work.
Written by Dave Brooks and arranged by Peter Burton, the song is performed by Peter and a choir of six employees from across the bank: Dave Brooks, Naciya Houston, Nadja Maniscalchi, Martina Messing, Samantha Sheils, and Sarah Weller. Crumble captures the feeling of struggling with mental health and the power of community in addressing this.
“Mental health can be a problem for even the most outgoing. Nobody can see inside your head as you walk by. As a poet and author, I have used writing over the years to deal with familial death and other related traumas. Crumble was a verse that felt like it deserved some music. The opportunity to work with the bank’s UK Charity of the Year to wave the mental health research banner was too good a one to pass up.”, said songwriter Dave Brooks, Business Partner CB Tech.
All proceeds raised from the song will be donated to MQ, an award-winning mental health research charity which invests in scientific research all around the world to create a future where mental illnesses are better understood, effectively treated, and one day prevented.
MQ was chosen by employees as Deutsche Bank’s UK Charity of the Year 2022-2023. Throughout the the partnership, employees have supported MQ through fundraising, sharing their skills and expertise, and raising awareness of the importance of research in transforming the lives of those affected by mental illness.
