Story
Our dear sister-in-law, Irene, developed early onset Alzheimer’s in her 60s and sadly passed away in March this year, at the age of 74.
Irene was a much loved English teacher and influenced many young lives positively. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, friend to many and a contributor to her local community and would have continued to be so, had not Alzheimer’s taken her from us, bit by bit.
We know many of our friends have family members who have been, and are being, impacted by this disease right now and it felt right that Alzheimer’s Research should be the recipient of our Crimbletown fund raising this year.
The Charity states that every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. What a shocking statistic!
If nothing changes, one in two of us will be directly affected by dementia – either by developing the condition ourselves, caring for someone with it, or both.
The creation of Crimbletown and the accompanying video is a wonderful dose of nostalgia for us all at Christmas time, but it has also proved to be a catalyst for raising awareness and money. Whether it’s through sponsorship, or donation or just sharing the video, your contribution can make a real difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Crimbletown, for watching and sharing the video, for joining in the fun and for helping contribute to Alzheimer’s Research.
