CFO Wimbledon Sweepstake 2023

Credit Suisse staff will be supporting Refuge as our UK Charity of the Year for 2022, raising funds for Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline

Story

We will be running a Wimbledon sweepstake-style competition to raise money for our UK Charity of the Year partner, Refuge.

As part of our partnership, Credit Suisse staff will be supporting Refuge, raising funds for Refuge's National Domestic Abuse Helpline. The Helpline is a gateway to domestic abuse services across the country and is often the first place a person experiencing domestic abuse will receive the emotional and practical support they need.

At the start of the pandemic the Helpline experienced a 64% increase in calls and contacts, incoming and outgoing. Visits to the National Domestic Abuse Helpline website increased seven-fold. Even though lockdowns have been lifted demand remains extremely high. Domestic abuse is an epidemic hidden behind closed doors.

One in four women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime. Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone. Thank you for standing in solidarity with the survivors we work with, and their children.
