Thanks a Million Challenge - Rowing a Million Metres for Children with Cancer

So, for my sins, I've agreed to take part in the Rowing a Million Metres for Children with Cancer and try break a Guiness World Record™. Apparently my days of being average at indoor rowing may be an advantage...
All jokes aside, it has been a while since I did any form of significant fundraising, and didn't make the decision to take part lightly, but Gihan's story struck a cord with me.
As some of you may know, one of my best friends in school was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, and he battled hard with it for years. I setup an Ultra-Duathlon event to raise money for specialist treatment for him in Germany, but sadly he passed away only a few days before. The event went ahead, and that money went towards creating a charity in his name (Unite Against Cancer) - but I've since not done any further fundraising, finding it a bit difficult to get over. I'd have loved if it if it could have gone towards him directly, and internally perceived it as a failure on my part.
Cancer sucks full stop, but having seen it first hand, is particularly cruel to those just starting out in life. So I've decided to dive head first into this monster of a challenge, and seek a better outcome than I had previously.
So please, if you have any spare change, funds or words of encouragement/ abuse, give all you can. All is appreciated!
I'm sure more updates, pestering and mini-events from me will be pushed relentlessly onto you in the near future - so watch this space!
Thank you all x
