Story
After entering the ballot every year for more than 10 years to my shock (fear) I managed to get into the London Marathon this year.
Being of the slightly heavier build and having not done much running in the past the marathon will be a quite challenge for me. My only real goal is to run the whole thing.
Having won a ballot place it feels like a little bit of a waste not to support a charity.
I have chosen to support The Indee Rose Trust which is a local charity which I have seen personally benefit children and their family during difficult times.
The following a little about what the charity do.
Every year, over 400 children are diagnosed with brain and spinal tumours across the United Kingdom.
The Indee Rose Trust creates the biggest smiles for these incredibly brave children between the ages of 1 - 17. The charities aim is simple - to make the bravest of children smile and create new, happier memories for all of the family.
The amazing Treasure Boxes really do create the biggest smiles. Each bespoke treasure box is created on referral. The monies raised and kind donations received are used to create these special Treasure Boxes. Each treasure box can cost £500+ depending on the child's wish list.
Often referred to as "A Box Full Of Happiness" the Treasure Boxes are unique and tailor-made to each child and our aim is to make sure we make them smile and forget about cancer for a while.
