Driving from Beauly to Beaulieu, 20 September 2023
We raise awareness of Aortic Dissection to improve diagnosis and survival rates

Story

On September 19th-20th this year, I will be driving a 30-year old Rover car from Beauly in the Scottish Highlands to Beaulieu in Hampshire to raise funds for Aortic Dissection Awareness UK & Ireland.

The drive will be to show solidarity with my dear friend Jon Murden, Chief Executive of the National Motor Museum Trust at Beaulieu, who has defied the odds to beat Aortic Dissection twice, most recently this year. Only 20% of people are lucky enough the first time...

The route also recalls substantial parts of a route driven by myself and a group of other British car enthusiasts on the very same day in 2003 to raise funds for cancer charities, so it has double resonance.

Aortic Dissection is a cruel and often instant killer. Please help us to fund vital research and save more kind and lovely people like Jon.

Thank you.
