Story
Myself and several other colleagues at CP Media are taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks for Crohn's & Colitis UK, a charity that is very important to me and several other employees, as we have family members suffering from these conditions. Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic illnesses with no cure, profoundly impacting the quality of life for those affected.
As someone with a close family member suffering from colitis, I have witnessed firsthand the debilitating effects of this condition. Colitis causes inflammation and ulcers in the colon, leading to severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, and extreme fatigue. These symptoms can make it challenging to maintain regular employment, engage in social activities, and significantly affect mental health due to the chronic nature of the illness. The unpredictability of flare-ups can lead to anxiety and depression, further compounding the daily struggles of those affected.
Funding for Crohn's & Colitis UK is crucial as it supports vital research aimed at finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure. Additionally, the charity provides essential services and support networks for patients and their families, helping them navigate the complexities of living with these conditions.
By taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, myself and the rest of CP Media hope to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Crohn's & Colitis UK. With the backing of our dedicated team, we aim to make a significant impact. Please follow our journey on our platforms and join us in supporting this important cause.
