Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Courtney Pickering, i am registered dental care professional. I have worked as a dental nurse for 7 years and now want to use my knowledge and passion to help those who are in need.

My colleague/friend Lauren and I will be flying out to Malawi in July 2025 with a charity called Dentaid. As a team, we are going to be treating patients of all ages per day. These patients are suffering from dental pain and are in need of treatment due to the lack of access to dental services.

Malawi is in desperate need of volunteers with fewer than 50 dentists to treat a population of around 19 million, therefore, I am sure you can understand my reason for wanting to volunteer.

As a volunteer, I will be assisting local Dentists to provide dental care to those in slum areas, orphanages, prisons, schools and community buildings. We as a team will be providing safe free dental treatment to some of the poorest and most remote communities in the world. I need to raise £3000 to fund for vital equipment, resources, PPE, dental supplies and our trip.

Dentaid is an amazing charity, and this will be a once-in-a lifetime opportunity I will be taking.

All the money raised will go to this incredible charity, including the equipment used, PPE, my flights and my accommodation.
