In February this year, James’s daddy sadly passed after a short battle with cancer.

During his last weeks at home, Marie Curie nurses were brilliant, on call nurses, night nurses, his daily care nurses - you couldn't fault the care and attention they gave to Jim or his family while we cared for him.

During one of the hardest times a family will ever have to go through these nurses were patient and compassionate.

In honour and memory of Jim, James and I will be taking part in a 18 mile hike in the Beat the Mournes challenge for Marie Curie on the 14th of June 2025, the day before Father's Day.

Our aim is to raise £207 each, the amount that will help fund nine hours of overnight nursing care in a patient's home, letting their family caring for them get much needed rest knowing their loved one is in good hands.

Fundraising efforts contribute to:

£3 helps fund a meal for a patient in one of our hospices.

£26 helps help fund an hour of bereavement support by phone or webchat.

It's time to beat the highest peak in Northern Ireland!

On the 14 June 2025 our incredible AMS Belfast team will take on a 9 mile or 18 mile hike through Northern Ireland's most dramatic mountain range, bound to mesmerise and inspire. This Area of Outstanding National Beauty is just an hour from the hustle and bustle of Belfast and our Marie Curie Hospice.

Our teams will also take part in other trails between the 14th June and 12th October ranging from 11 to 24 Miles in different Iconic UK trails

Beat the Trails for Marie Curie and help people get the best care possible, to the end.

All the money raised will help Marie Curie provide vital care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time. Many of us know the care and support Marie Curie provide as they have supported us and our loved ones.
