Chop For Charity - Paul & Corinne Wareham
I had this exciting idea of raising money by growing my hair for a year and then having it all cut off for charity. My hubby, Paul, gave me the thumbs up to the idea… In fact he was very supportive and said he’d grow his hair too. My hair is currently a curly, shaggy mess most of the time, and Paul is now sporting a ‘fashionable’ mullet and beard.
A little bit about why we are doing this.
We have three great children, Liam, Joe and Kate. When Joe was born he decided to arrive in this world on August bank holiday 1999, five weeks early. This early entrance was obviously unexpected. However, 10 days later we had more unexpected news when Joe was diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome. This was so hard for Paul and myself to take in. But, if only we knew then what we know now! That Joe would make us laugh so much, be super confident, have such a kind and caring nature…..and live totally independent of us, and also run two jobs.
We have a lot to thank The Down’s Syndrome Association for. They were instrumental in educating us on how to best equip Joe for a great life. Early intervention, main stream school, and great specialist education. To make every effort to help Joe reach his full potential.
So it is now time for Paul and myself to give back to The Down’s Syndrome Association. Follow our ‘Chop For Charity’ on Corinne’s Facebook on Friday 21st March 2025.
We would truly appreciate every penny you can give to this wonderful charity.
Many thanks
Paul and Corinne Wareham
