Story
Because it didn't hurt enough the first time....
On Saturday 6th July I will be setting off, with another fabulous group of people, to complete the 100km continuous Ultra Challenge! This time it will be around the Peak District which starts and finishes in Bakewell.
Last year’s Ultra Challenge around the Isle of Wight was extremely difficult, physically, as expected, but mentally it far exceeded anything I have ever had to overcome….. there was A LOT of tears!! Had it not been for the incredible support from the group (Team1909), my friends and family tracking my journey and constantly encouraging me, and the fantastic organisers and support crew I am not sure I would have completed. But I did, and in doing so raised a lot of money for a great charity. And if all it takes it some physical pain and mental strength to do something good….. well looks like I am doing it again!
Sooooooo……on Saturday 6th July I will be setting off, with another fabulous group of people, to complete the 100km continuous Ultra Challenge! This time it will be around the Peak District which starts and finishes in Bakewell, which will present different obstacles, challenges and, being in July, potentially hot weather! Last year I completed the distance in a moving time of 25h 54m, so I am hoping to get this closer to 24 hours finish time which will be tough going.
This year I am aiming to raise money for another fantastic charity, Dementia UK. 1 in 11 people over the age of 65 have dementia, and Dementia UK is an inclusive charity that specialises in supporting the whole family, working towards a day where no one has to face dementia alone. Anything you can give to support me in this challenge, and this worthwhile charity, I will be so grateful for. Thank you.
