Story
This October I am embarking on my first half marathon in aid of Hospice Africa and would be very appreciative of any donations you can give to support me with this challenge!
Hospice Africa was founded in Liverpool UK 30 years ago. Since then, it's expanded its clinical and support operations globally. Its teams have developed an affordable and culturally appropriate palliative care model which is being replicated by other organisations all across Africa.
Their vision is to provide: Palliative Care for all those in need in Africa.
Access to palliative care is fundamental to health and human dignity and is a basic human right. However, still many individuals do not access adequate care and the future of Hospice Africa is in jeopardy without adequate funding. The UK, and other entities in Ireland, France, Australia, and the USA are vital for the support of: - Teaching nurses and doctors in palliative care ethos and practices (10,000 medical staff trained)-Medical equipment, clinic services, rural home visits, daycare, paying staff. -Manufacturing and production of affordable morphine.
This year Hospice celebrates its 30th anniversary of providing palliative care and affordable morphine to HIV/AIDS and cancer patients. Please join us and commend the incredible work in supporting us with as little or large as you can!
