Story
Join us on Sunday 21 May as we host our Pub Walk to raise funds for LAMP and support mental health in Leicester and Leicestershire.
Following the success of last year's event our 5k Pub Walk is returning for 2023. Join us as we take in the walk from The Cradock Arms through the scenic Aylestone Meadows over to Everards Meadows. From there you can choose to order food and drinks before either joining us to walk back to The Cradock or make your own way back.
The route is fairly flat so is a nice walk for all abilities. Dogs are also welcome. The walk itself will take around 1 hour 15 minutes at a standard pace. Walking together is a wonderful way to make new friends en route, so we hope the event will help to combat loneliness as well as encouraging people to explore the local area (and enjoy a few drinks).
To join in simply donate a minimum of £5, which will go directly to Lamp's main 2023 fundraising campaign.
TIMINGS:
From 11am: Meet the Cool As Leicester and Lamp team at The Cradock
11.30am: Leave The Cradock
12.45 (approx): Arrive at Everards Beer Hall
Leicester-based mental health charity, Lamp has launched its major Lamp 5k fundraising campaign for 2023. This years campaign will take place from 15-21 May, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, and focuses on the positive impact that physical exercise has on mental health.
The theme of this years Lamp 5k campaign is climbing mountains for mental health so the charity also wants this campaign to not only be physical, but also virtual and metaphorical with the emphasis on overcoming obstacles to climb their own mental health mountain, whatever that might be.
On average, it costs around £750 for Lamp to help to navigate someone through the complexities of mental health and empower them to rebuild their life. Participants in the Lamp 5k are encouraged to get sponsorship for each kilometer covered/challenge achieved/mountain overcome.
