Step for Schools
Campaign by Vodafone Foundation (RCN 1193984)
This is a get together that matters. Vodafone employees are coming together for Vodafone Foundation's Step for Schools campaign, raising vital funds for refugee education.

Story

I'm running 10 kilometres at Mapledurham Country Park on 5th September supporting the Step for Schools campaign with Team Vodafone, raising funds to expand Instant Network Schools, a joint programme by Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

Education is not just a fundamental human right; it is a powerful tool for empowerment and a pathway to a better future. Yet across the world, children find themselves caught up in conflicts that have a devastating impact on their lives, and futures. Of the total 14.8 million school-aged refugee children, 49% are estimated to be out of school.

To address this, over 130 Instant Network Schools have connected more than 352,000 young refugees with a quality digital education, and trained over 6,400 teachers and coaches.

Being a refugee is not a choice. Together, we can support refugees so they too have a chance for a brighter future for themselves, their families and their community.
