Story
The 7th Hanwell Scout group was founded in May 1933 and our current building, 'The Warren', was completed over 50 years ago in 1972. Whilst it has stood the test of time, it has now fallen into a dilapidated state and urgently needs updating. We need to raise up to £370,000 in order to bring our Scouting into the 21st century. This money will enable us to create a refreshed, modern building for our group and one that can also be used by the wider community.
To help raise funds this year, a number of our parents, and leaders are running the Ealing Half Marathon on 24th September 2023. Our aim is to raise over £1,000 as we did last year. We are a real mix of runners from a veteran of the first Ealing Half Marathon (Darren), a serial half marathon runner who is aiming to run 50 half marathons for our cause this year (Keith), and others who will simply be pleased to get around the course. What unites us is wanting to support the hall appeal.
Even better than us adults are two of our beavers, Jacob and Ted, who are fundraising by running the Ealing Mini Mile on 23rd September. So give them a cheer if you see them.
We'd be hugely grateful for your support (look out for our black and red vests as we run the course) and of course your donations. Please help us create an environment where our young people can thrive!
