Story
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
I was diagnosed with a brain tumour last august and I took a beating both physically and mentally. I was unable to use the right side of my body and had to use a crutch to get around for months, I couldn't take a shower by myself, I couldn't go anywhere myself or without my family and myself worrying for my safety. Mentally I was destroyed my self confidence plummeted due to the massive chunk out of my hair the weight I put on for being inactive for so long and the anxiety and depression I felt from losing my house was crippling.
I didn't go much into detail there but you can imagine how tough it was for me to start feeling better and even with all that I mentioned I still considered myself one of the lucky ones. My tumour was benign and I'm still breathing so honestly I can't complain.
I'm doing all I can for those who are not as lucky as me. The people who found their tumour too late, the people who can't be saved with an operation and for anyone out there who has ever crossed paths with any form of tumour.
So far I have raised a massive amount and I am very greatful for all the support I've received both in my recovery and now as a young ambassador for the brain tumour charity.
Just because my race and my quiz have both came and went that doesn't mean I am stopping on my goal to spread awareness and raise funds, I have a bone to pick with brain tumours and I will not be letting it go. One day we will defeat them.
