Story
Cancer impacts us all in one way or another.
For me, my Grandma had breast cancer that metastasized over a long period of time. She eventually succumbed to the illness after a long fight in August 2011. I still remember the excellent hospice nurses who treated her with care and dignity in her final days. Their vital work also helps provide families with much needed support and peace of mind.
That’s why I am honoured to have been given the opportunity to run the London Marathon 2024 with Marie Curie and help raise some much-needed funds to support their essential work.
On 21st April 2024, our incredible #TeamMarieCurie runners will be taking to the streets of London and running 26.2 miles in aid of Marie Curie. All the money that is raised helps Marie Curie Nurses provide vital care and support to people with terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.
£20 pays for one hour of vital nursing care at home for someone living with a terminal illness.
£57 pays for an hour of clinical support from an expert nurse via our Support Line.
£180 pays for a whole night of care from a Marie Curie Nurse.
For those of you that know me well, I wasn’t gifted with a natural running ability (to say the least!). However, I am determined to put 100% into the training and will provide lots of updates on my progress. I will be organising some fundraising events in the coming months and will provide details in due course.
For now, I invite you all to be as generous as you can for such a worthy cause.
