Coast to Coast Walk

What started off as a summer adventure idea between a group of friends who enjoy a good walk at the weekend, has now turned into a charity walk for a very fitting and well deserved charity.....Bluebell Wood

8 of us namely

Conner Wesley, Rob Pryke, Craig Edwards, Matt Whitehead, Corey Mangham, Chris Daley, Danny Bearman, and Caleb Wedge

We will take on the 192 mile Coast to Coast walk from the Irish Sea, through the Lake District onto the Yorkshire Dales, cross the North Yorkshire Moors and finally finishing at Robin Hoods Bay where we set foot in the North Sea

We are all relatively fit young(ish) lads but far from veteran exhibitionists, so to say this challenge is going to be extremely hard is an understatement. Our goal is to finish the whole thing in 9 and a half days whereas the recommended time is between 12-14. we would be averaging over 20 miles a day and wild camping every day and carrying all our own gear!

The Charity

Bluebell Wood is a local charity that opened its doors in September 2008 with a vision to help families in the area who wanted an alternative to hospital care. They support children and young adults whose lives tragically are just too short.

To name a few things this amazing place offer are

* Respite and Short breaks

* Family and sibling support

* Support for young adults

* Music Therapy

* Physiotherapy

* End of life care

* Bereavement Support

They will help every family who needs them to make the most amazing memories. Also around 85% of their funding comes from donations

The Fundraising

We have set up this JustGiving page as one of the many ways we plan to raise as much money as we possibly can. Over the next 4 month while undergoing a brutal training regime. We know things are a tight at the moment but no whatever you can afford no matter how small will be greatly appreciated.

Any small/local business owners who would be able to put a little bit more in would be great as any money donated to charity from a limited company will be deducted from your corporation tax as some of you may not know. We will also be displaying any company logos/names on the backs of our t-shirts and on a banner that will be with us all the way.

A little closer to the time we will be putting sponsor forms and collection buckets in shops local businesses and pubs around Maltby

Finally as a joint welcome home party/fundraiser there will be an event at The Brooklands Club in Maltby where we intend to have a final push for donations. there will be live outdoor music, bouncy castles, face painting, raffles, burger van etc. all in all a great day to finish our challenge, celebrate and reach our target!

Thankyou in advance to each and everyone of you that donates and spare a thought for the 8 brave souls that are making this happen.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
