100 Miles in October · 1 October 2023 to 31 October 2023 ·

Your challenge is to walk, jog or run 100 miles in October. You can spread it across the month any way you like. How about walking to or from work? Or adding an extra few miles on an autumn walk in the countryside?

Story

I am part of a team at the National Deaf Children's Society and we have set ourselves a challenge to walk, jog or run 100 Miles in October.

There are more than 50,000 deaf children in the UK and most are born to hearing parents with no previous experience of deafness. They are the motivation for us to get out on the streets, hills, woods and treadmills of the nation and raise money to help overcome the social and educational barriers that impact deaf children.

National Deaf Children's Society wants to see more support for deaf children during their early years, or as soon as their deafness is identified. For all children the early years is a crucial time, but this is even more so for deaf children, given the impact deafness can have on language development, communication, and social skills.

Please support us - every donation matters, whether it is £5 or £50.

Thank you!
