Story
Our mum, Gill Batchelor was diagnosed with Cancer in May 2023. She bravely underwent 6 rounds of chemotherapy and a major operation before being given the all clear at Christmas. Sadly 2 months later the cancer returned and after several hospital stays we were given the news that there was nothing more that doctors could do and she died 28th July 2024.
Mum wanted to be at home rather than stay at the hospice, however she received excellent at home care from the doctors and nurses from the Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice. They were amazing in their care for mum and their support for us. The kindness and compassion they showed allowed mum to have her wish of dying at home surrounded by family. We are grateful for all their support and now want to do this colour run as a family to give back to the hospice so they can help others, and in memory of our lovely, amazing mum. We miss you xxx
