Story

Hi Guys!

I will be conquering 450 km bike ride from Colombo to Jaffna in Sri Lanka from the 12th of February 2025.

A bike ride in Sri Lanka has been on my bucket list for a while. When I heard about Trek 4 Ceylon, a 450 km ride over four days through the heart of Lanka that was also attempting to raise money to carry out the restoration work at the long-neglected St. Luke’s Methodist Hospital in Puttur, I jumped at the opportunity.

Here is a chance for you, too, to participate in that endeavor by supporting my ride through a donation. I thank you in advance for your kind consideration.

Trek4Ceylon LTD is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).

Trek4Ceylon - Why We Ride?

The scars of Sri Lanka’s 25-year civil war are still visible, especially in the northern and eastern regions. While the country slowly rebuilds, many communities are still struggling to access basic healthcare.

At the heart of this effort to heal lies St. Luke’s Methodist Hospital, a 125-year-old institution dedicated to serving those in need. Right now, the hospital can only provide two hours of consultancy each weekday, limited to a small, partially renovated room, where a retired medical officer offers care to the community.

●St. Luke’s Methodist Hospital Puttur has been identified by Trek4Ceylon as a hospital to renovate and offer medical services.

●Each year Trek4Ceylon will set out the project to be implemented using the rider funds/donations.

● Trek4Ceylon 2025 funds will be used for the renovation of the main building to offer daily OPD services to adults and children.

Above 6 Pictures: Buildings in need of restoration and repurposing.

With your support, we can restore and repurpose several buildings in urgent need of renovation, transforming St. Luke’s into a place of healing once again. Every contribution—no matter the size—will directly help:

- Expand consultation hours to meet the growing needs of the community.

- Restore critical hospital facilities, creating a safer and more welcoming space for patients.

- Ensure the hospital can continue to serve as a lifeline for the region for generations to come.

This is not just about bricks and mortar; it's about giving hope and dignity back to a community that has endured so much. Your generosity will make a lasting difference in the lives of people who have suffered hardship for too long.
