Story
After already completing the London Marathon and training for that for months I needed to put my training to another challenge.
On 27-28th May 2023 I will be completing the Coast to Coast cycle challenge. 140 miles from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. I will be doing this with my sister in law Elaine and friends joining us for some of the miles with support from Mike, Neen and Adrian on motorbikes and Graham in the car.
After this I will be taking on the Great North SwimRun at Lake Windermere. This is a race wearing all your kit you need to run, swim, run, swim, run and swim to the end.
On 3rd September I have signed up to do a 70.3 Ironman at Druridge Bay in Northumberland. Geordieman! 1.2mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 miles run around the beautiful Northumberland coast.
11th September is another Great North Run with the amazing Team Ewan!
I cant wait for one day to undertake these challenges with Ewan and if we continue to fight for better treatments and medication he will be able to.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic condition which causes sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK. One in 25 of us carries the faulty gene that causes it, usually without knowing.
Cystic fibrosis comes with challenges, affecting our physical health, mental wellbeing and how we choose to live our lives. But our community is uniting towards the ultimate goal of effective treatment for all.
Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the charity uniting people to stop cystic fibrosis.
