Story
This October, I'm taking part in The 137 Challenge with ActionAid and completing 137 daily step-ups for one month 💪
It may not seem much but I have a bad back and this won’t be easy for me but I will give it my all to complete it👊🏼👊🏼💥💥
I’m giving this challenge a go folks and hope you can support me in any small or big way you can.
I saw this charity come up online and thought why haven’t I got involved in something like this before?????????
Well here I am. Raising awareness to help end violence against women and girls.
Our /my Big sister Elayne was killed by a boyfriend she had been seeing for not very long a believe. She also got wrapped up with some horrible abusive men through her life that didn’t treat her well.
She was only 28 years old when she was taken from our lives. We've had to spend a little long time without her because of a man that couldn’t control himself and THAT is unacceptable. He got life and some years for arson that ran concurrent with his life sentence. No where near enough time. He’s out now walking the streets living his life and she isn’t. He was also known to have been abusive to other partners he had.
I’ve never thought about raising awareness before now (33years) but something said do something so I am. If the money I raise can help one or two women to get the help they need to get out of a life like that then I’ve done a little something haven’t I.
As I said, give what you can £1 would do as Every little helps that woman or girl🫶🏼🫶🏼
Why? One in three women will experience some form of violence in their lifetime, and 137 women are killed per day by a partner, family member or friend? But around the world, ActionAid are working with woman and girls are fighting to claim their rights and change the systems and beliefs that make violence acceptable.
